Previous winners have included Liverpool’s Ferry Terminal and the Walkie Talkie in London. This isn’t a prize for good design though, it’s the Carbuncle Cup, an award for the worst new building in the UK.
Members of the public can nominate whatever structure they want and it’s not just about aesthetics, it’s about how these buildings affect the communities around them.
